New Authentication System to Replace UARK Central Login

UARK Central Login, the legacy single sign-on tool powered by Shibboleth, will be replaced by Cirrus Bridge, which helps users quickly connect to Microsoft's Azure Active Directory (AD), effective at 5 p.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 15.

Users logging into university applications relying on UARK Central Login will now be automatically directed to Cirrus Bridge instead. Implementing Cirrus Bridge with Microsoft's cloud-based Azure AD will create a more streamlined and user-friendly single sign-on experience for students, faculty and staff, while also providing increased collaboration and research opportunities.

Cirrus Bridge will also allow users to access and leverage InCommon, a multilateral federation, across participating DART (Data Analytics that are Robust and Trusted) research institutions. Increased accessibility to data and tools that will elevate research efforts on campus ultimately supports the university's 150 Forward strategic priorities.

Cybersecurity also remains a high priority for the U of A, with IT Services committed to providing a secure network for the campus community. Cirrus Bridge will help the university protect account information, safeguard user identities and simplify the single sign-on process.

Questions regarding cybersecurity, the retirement of UARK Central Login or the implementation of Cirrus Bridge can be directed to the Office of the Chief Information Security Officer at security@uark.edu.
