University Recreation to Offer a Free Week of Membership to U of A Faculty and Staff

University Recreation invites all current U of A faculty and staff members come check out what UREC has to offer! A free one-week UREC membership will be awarded to those who are interested in checking out all UREC facilities. To redeem your free week-long membership, please complete this online Qualtrics form. Memberships can be redeemed through Thursday, Nov. 30, for those who are interested in participating.

 The main facility for the Department of University Recreation is the Health, Physical Education and Recreation Building (HPER), located at 155 N. Stadium Dr. Highlights include the Donna Axum Fitness Center, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, four basketball courts, an indoor track, a group fitness studio, functional training areas, cycle studio, racquetball courts, bouldering and climbing walls, UREC Outdoors, and locker and shower facilities. 

The UREC Fitness Center, conveniently located in the middle of campus on the second floor of the Arkansas Union, features almost 6,000 square feet of gym floor space and fully equipped men's and women's locker and shower facilities. 

The UREC Sports Complex, located at 1486 Mitchell St., offers one competition and practice club sports surface, four intramural playing surfaces and two sand volleyball courts. It is recommended that participants bring their own equipment with them, but equipment items [footballs, soccer balls, sand volleyballs, Frisbees, etc.] are available for checkout from the service center inside the complex. 

The UREC Tennis Center is located at 1357 W. Indian Trail off of Martin Luther King Boulevard in Fayetteville. The UREC Tennis Center features 12 tennis courts (four courts with backboards to allow for individual play) and a service facility that includes an equipment checkout center and restrooms. It is recommended that participants bring their own equipment with them to play. Equipment such as tennis racquets, tennis balls and pickleball racquets are available to check out, but on a limited basis.   

University Recreation is a major campuswide service unit in the Division of Student Affairs. The mission of University Recreation is to empower students for success through recreation and wellness.
