About 1,400 Students to 'Walk' During Fall Commencement

The U of A will celebrate its fall graduating class with two ceremonies on Saturday, Dec. 16, in Bud Walton Arena.

Nearly 1,900 students will graduate this December, and approximately 1,400 students are scheduled to "walk" in this semester's commencement.  

Live streaming of both ceremonies will be available on the U of A YouTube channel.

GUEST INFORMATION

Doors will open 60 minutes prior to each ceremony, and guests are encouraged to be seated 15 minutes prior to the ceremony's start. 

All guests will be required to enter through the south or west entrances of Bud Walton Arena.

Tickets are not required at any ceremony, but a clear bag policy will be in effect. Compact umbrellas are allowed, but balloons, wrapped packages and strollers are not allowed. A full list of prohibited items is available online.

Light concessions will be available for purchase by credit/debit (no cash). Outside food and drink is not permitted.

Printed program books will not be distributed to guests, but an online version will be available on the commencement website prior to the ceremony.

Free parking is available in any unrestricted parking lot on campus. Download a map of all parking areas here.  

Disabled drop-off for Bud Walton Arena is located at the south entrance with disabled parking available in lot 60. 

COMMENCEMENT SCHEDULE

Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023

Fall Commencement will consist of two ceremonies. Graduate students will be grouped at the beginning of each ceremony and will attend the ceremony corresponding to their college.

Ceremony No. 1 (8:30 a.m.) – Bud Walton Arena

  • Dale Bumpers College of Agriculture, Food and Life Sciences
  • Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences
  • College of Engineering
  • School of Law
  • Interdisciplinary Graduate Students 

Ceremony No. 2 (12:30 p.m.) – Bud Walton Arena

  • Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design
  • College of Education and Health Professions
  • Sam M. Walton College of Business
