Osher Lifelong Learning Institute Celebrates 16 Years, Invites Public to Open House

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at the U of A is set to begin its spring term of programs and activities.
OLLI is based in the College of Education and Health Professions and provides opportunities for adults to share intellectual interests, meet new people and explore cultural topics with peers.
To kick off the season, OLLI will host an open house from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11. The event is free and open to the public. It will be held at its new location, 481 S. Shiloh Dr. in Fayetteville. Guests can pick up a course catalog, meet instructors and register for classes. There will also be light hors d'oeuvres and chances to win prizes.
"Anyone interested in learning more about OLLI is welcome to stop by our open house," said Director Josh Raney. "Even if OLLI isn't a good fit for you right now, I'd encourage you to share this with people in your life who may benefit from our courses and events."
The slate of classes and upcoming events is available in the online 2024 Spring Course Catalog. Classes are offered both in person and online. Highlights of the spring catalog include a tour of the private art collection housed at the Tyson Inc. headquarters, a hike during the total solar eclipse and Great Decisions, a program offered through the Foreign Policy Association.
OLLI currently has over 400 members who have joined for the year and is offering a spring semester membership discounted to $35. There are no age restrictions or prerequisites to take OLLI classes, and members receive discounted course fees and access to exclusive members-only programs.
