Bernice A. King to Deliver Distinguished Lecture Feb. 28; Streaming and Tickets Still Available

Bernice A. King will deliver a moderated question and answer session as part of the Distinguished Lectures Committee's series at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, at the Fayetteville Town Center. Tickets are required, and a livestream will be available as well.

Bernice A. King, global thought leader, strategist, solutionist, orator, peace advocate, and CEO will deliver a moderated question and answer session as part of the Distinguished Lectures Committee's series at 7 pm Wednesday, Feb. 28, at the Fayetteville Town Center.

Anyone planning to attend in-person must reserve a free ticket. No admittance will be granted without a ticket. Ticket reservations for students, faculty and staff that have a current uark.edu email address will be available starting at ­­­noon on Thursday, Feb. 15 on HogSync. Starting at noon on Friday, Feb. 16, any remaining tickets will be available for the public on osa.uark.edu.

A livestream will be available of the event and will be hosted on the U of A Productions YouTube channel. There also will be a recording available for students, faculty and staff at the U of A at video.uark.edu for 30 days post lecture.

King is the youngest daughter of the late civil rights leaders Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King. An ordained minister, King holds a degree in psychology from Spelman College, as well as a Master of Divinity and Juris Doctor from Emory University. A licensed attorney, King has worked with the Fulton County Juvenile Detention Court in Georgia and was influential in the passage of Georgia's 2020 Hate Crime legislation. She is the author of Hard Questions, Hard Answers and the children's book It Starts With Me.

King serves as the CEO of the Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change which, as a living memorial, provides visitors with a place to learn about the life and work of her father. King continues her parents' legacy by educating youth and adults worldwide about nonviolent principles and strategies in the Kingian philosophy of nonviolence, which she has rebranded and trademarked as Nonviolence365. She is the recipient of numerous awards and honors for her work across the globe and is committed to sharing her parents' teachings with new generations.
