WORKDAY 2024 RELEASE 1

The upcoming Workday release, set to launch March 9, includes improvements to business processes and user workflows to streamline the user experience. While the upcoming Workday release focuses on subtle back-end improvements, this update features a few noteworthy, larger-scale changes from refined functions to upgraded interfaces, all aimed at optimizing user efficiency.

Just like any major software upgrade, there will be necessary downtime while these changes are implemented. Workday will be unavailable from 1 to 4 a.m. Saturday, March 9. Additional downtime may be required following the update and will be communicated to campus accordingly. Employees and administrators should make plans to anticipate this downtime.

RELEASE HIGHLIGHTS

  • New look for "Announcements" on Workday homepage: For better visibility, Workday is moving the "Announcements" section to a higher location on the homepage and will now allow employees to scroll through announcements from left-to-right, rather than displaying announcements in a top-to-bottom format.
  • Save and manage jobs using the Career Hub Plan: With this release, Workday continues to improve the Career Hub user experience by allowing workers to save and manage jobs in their Career Hub Plan. This additional connection between Career Hub and Talent provides a more centralized approach to career planning. Currently, when users are interested in a job, they can create job alerts. With Save Jobs to Career Hub Plan, users can now apply to the job and save the job to their plan. Workday currently does not support Save Jobs to Career Hub Plan for contingent workers.
  • New attachment settings in the Change Job BP: This release promises an improved user experience during the Change Job process by making it easier to add attachments. Users can now drag and drop attachments to the change job event. While Workday won't display the Attachments tab on the Change Job screen, you can add attachments using the Attachment toolbar.
