Building Visits to Be Held March 18-21 as Part of Campus Space Use Study

As part of the U of A's ongoing Campus Space Use Study, representatives from the U of A Facilities Management and SmithGroup will visit classrooms and teaching labs March 18-21 during the week of spring break.

These visits are a part of the Educational Adequacy Assessment (EAA) portion of the Campus Space Use Study. Representatives from FAMA and SmithGroup will evaluate environmental quality, layout, furnishing, technology and tools for 539 classrooms and teaching labs in 66 buildings across campus, and they may take photographs during the evaluation. The Office of the Provost will send a separate and more detailed communication about these visits to building executives throughout the university.

The U of A, in partnership with SmithGroup, started the 12-month Campus Space Use Study earlier this year to evaluate how classroom, research and administrative space is used across campus.

In addition, the U of A will gather feedback from students, faculty and staff regarding the spaces they use on campus through a MapMyCampus survey, which is anticipated to launch the last week in March. This survey will allow the campus community to share valuable information on the spaces they use most and what improvements can be made. More information on the MapMyCampus survey will be provided to the campus community through Arkansas News and other communication channels.
