The Department of User Solutions has partnered with the U of A System and IT Services to implement a digital adoption tool that will allow users to more easily navigate Workday, enhancing the overall experience.

WalkMe is a digital adoption platform (DAP) that provides users with in-app guidance and contextual self-help resources. The U of A System started piloting WalkMe with select U of A campuses in fall of 2023 as a way to provide time-of-need training and support for Workday users across the system.

User Solutions will be hosting a live demonstration of WalkMe as part of the new Workday Webinar Series from 2 to 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, March 20. Register for this webinar to learn more about WalkMe, ask questions about the WalkMe roadmap at the U of A campus in Fayetteville and engage directly with the User Solutions team.

Toward the end of April, IT Services will deploy the WalkMe plugin to all campus computers. The plugin will be available to all faculty, staff and student employees using university-supplied equipment. No action will be required from end-users for this enhancement.

"The deployment of WalkMe is a strategic initiative to address the evolving needs of our campus community's use of Workday," said James Morrison, senior director of user solutions. "WalkMe will empower users to navigate Workday with ease, making processes more intuitive and user-friendly. This not only increases user productivity but also ensures a seamless and efficient experience."

Examples of how WalkMe will assist users include:

  • On-screen guidance
  • Time-of-need training
  • Automated assistance within digital platforms

Workday users are encouraged to submit WalkMe enhancement requests to the UAF Workday Ideas page. Requests will be used to prioritize WalkMe developments.
