DEPARTMENT SPOTLIGHT: OFFICE OF FACULTY AFFAIRS

The Office of Faculty Affairs serves the U of A in facilitating the success of all faculty by supporting recruitment, hiring, recognition, retention and professional and leadership development in partnership with colleges, schools, departments and other administrative units. They provide professional development opportunities in collaboration with the Teaching and Faculty Support Center, Division of Research and Innovation, and the campus writing center in the areas of research, teaching, publishing and mentorship.

Employees are invited to learn more about the services that the Faculty Affairs team provides by visiting their booth at the carnival. Their booth will feature a fun game of Win, Lose or Draw PLINKO-style learning about the resources Faculty Affairs offers. Supervisors are encouraged to allow team members the flexibility to attend the carnival during working hours to foster a sense of connection across campus, celebrate the impactful work done by each unit and to develop their knowledge and relationships among the departments in attendance.

The Making Your Day Work Carnival is a collaborative effort led by several departments that comprise the VCFA (Vice Chancellor for Finance & Administration) including User Solutions, University IT Services (UITS), Human Resources and Financial Affairs.
