The Division of Finance and Administration invites university employees to attend the Making Your Day Work Carnival, scheduled for March 28. This unique event serves not only to showcase the various departments across campus who work to enhance the overall employee experience, but also to raise awareness among employees regarding the diverse and exceptional services offered by the university that may be overlooked in the hustle of daily routines.

This event offers an opportunity for staff and faculty to connect face-to-face with units they may have previously interacted with only virtually or over the phone. It will feature a "Family Feud" style game show with Chancellor Robinson; winners will receive lunch for their department. Attendees can visit the registration table upon arriving to collect a wristband and tickets to receive items at each booth. Snacks and small bites will be provided.

DEPARTMENT SPOTLIGHT: FACILITIES MANAGEMENT

Facilities Management's goal of creating a safe environment for the campus community is what drives them. Facility Management's services are designed to help foster a clean, safe and effective environment. They offer custodial services, recycling and waste pickup, general maintenance, small renovations, outdoor space reservations and much more — many of which are dedicated to support an educational environment.

Employees are invited to learn more about the services that the Facilities Management team provides by visiting their booth at the carnival. Supervisors are encouraged to allow team members the flexibility to attend the carnival during working hours to foster a sense of connection across campus, celebrate the impactful work done by each unit and to develop their knowledge and relationships among the departments in attendance.

DEPARTMENT SPOTLIGHT: TRAVEL OFFICE

The Travel Office serves campus and facilitates travel for faculty, staff, students and guests of the U of A by proficiently processing travel reimbursement, administering the Travel Credit Card program, offering training and tools to administrators and travelers alike and providing interpretation and guidance regarding IRS regulations, State of Arkansas travel regulations and university processes and procedures.

In conjunction with the Office of Cash Management, Travel Office staff creates settlement batches for all expense report reimbursements. They are continually working with outside vendors to reduce costs, generate quality customer service and identify the best partners for all travel services.

The Travel Office’s booth will feature Travel Pong — everyone is a winner. There will be bonus prizes for those that can answer travel-related questions. Attendees are guaranteed to leave the Travel Office booth with a little extra motivation and perhaps even a smile.

Employees are invited to learn more about the services that the Facilities Management and Travel Office teams provide by visiting their booths at the carnival.
