Zero Hour Arkansas Opens Pre-Orders for Second Edition of Free Zine on Environmental Justice
For the second year, the Arkansas chapter of This is Zero Hour is providing access to environmental education through its zine, ROOTS. The zine features art and writing, highlighting the intersection between community and the environment.
"Environmental justice education is absent from many STEM and science-based curricula in the United States, from primary education to universities," said Amelia Southern-Uribe, founder and director of Zero Hour Arkansas. "Arkansas ranks 47th in education, making our communities disproportionately impacted by the lack of access to quality education. ROOTS is based in both education and action, facilitating change through providing free materials to Arkansans and beyond."
ROOTS' mission is to empower historically excluded communities by amplifying the incredible stories of Southern people in the environmental space. Sign up for a free copy of the zine here. All interested must place orders by midnight on Monday, April 1.
