Yearly Academic Award Winners, Ambassadors Recognized by Bumpers College

Nine students in six different majors in U of A's Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences received nine annual academic awards from the college at its annual student honors and awards reception.

Students recognized include:

  • Presidential Scholar — Lucy Scholma; food, nutrition and health
  • Dale Bumpers Distinguished Scholars -
    • Ph.D: Carrie Ortel; crop, soil and environmental sciences
    • Master's: Tanner Austin King; crop, soil and environmental sciences
    • Undergraduate Transfer: Hannah Dozier; animal science
  • John W. White Outstanding Student — Anna Brooke Mathis; agricultural education, communication and technology
  • Spitze Public Policy Legislative Internship Award — Lexi Dilbeck; agricultural education, communication and technology
  • Stanley E. Reed Internship Award — Cason Frisby; food science
  • Bumpers College Alumni Society Rising Senior Award — Schyler Angell; agricultural education, communication and technology
  • DBCAFLS Alumni Society Scholarship — Kadence Trosper; apparel merchandising and product development

The college also recognized its ambassadors for 2022-24. The group works both on campus and off campus recruiting events, assisting with Dean's Office and college-wide events, serving as representatives of the college, connecting with students, assisting in other recruiting functions and sharing the philosophy and benefits of enrollment in the college to prospective students, parents and alumni.

This year's group included:

  • Madison Estepp (fall lead ambassador); agricultural education, communication and technology;
  • Schyler Angell; agricultural education, communication and technology;
  • Kelly Duggins; agricultural education, communication and technology and animal science;
  • Malinalxochitl Ilhuicamina; food science;
  • Joshua King; environmental, soil and water science;
  • Abby Lunn; food science;
  • Abigail Norsworth; crop science and agricultural business;
  • Molly Parker; agricultural business;
  • Emma Richards; animal science;
  • Noah Boggs Riley; human development and family sciences;
  • Jimena Rodriguez; animal science;
  • Evan Seay; agricultural education, communication and technology;
  • Abbigail Slaughter; poultry science;
  • Maxwell Smiley; agricultural business;
  • Elizabeth Tribout; agricultural business;

They were recognized at a reception on April 18 at the Don Tyson Center for Agricultural Sciences.
