2003 Arkansas Poll Results Available Early On Embargoed Basis

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Results of the 2003 Arkansas Poll will be made available to reporters early on an embargoed basis.

By noon on Thursday, Oct. 23, the Arkansas Poll results and report will be posted online. Reporters will access the site through an entry page that requires their agreement to an embargo before it directs them to the data. The University requests that no information about the poll results be published before Wednesday, Oct. 29, when the embargo expires.

"We’ve had requests for an embargo from reporters across the state, and we wanted to respond to their needs," said Janine Parry, director of the poll. "We realize that in years past, reporting on the poll has resembled a mad dash. The hope is that, this year, an embargo will give news agencies more time to review the materials, conduct interviews and gather information."

Results from past polls remain available at http://plsc.uark.edu/arkpoll/. Questions about the 2003 embargo can be directed to Allison Hogge in the Office of University Relations. Questions about the Arkansas Poll should be directed to Janine Parry.
