Bumpers College Director Named to Board of National Agricultural Council

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Mark Power has been appointed to the board of directors for the National Agricultural Alumni and Development Association (NAADA). He will serve a term of two years as the development track representative.

NAADA, headquartered in Alexandria, Va., has a mission to provide education and support for professionals, volunteers and student leaders who are dedicated to expanding the human resources and financial support for land-grant colleges of agricultural sciences and related programs. Power will help coordinate activities for development professionals at annual conferences and other events as needed.

Power said, "This is a wonderful professional opportunity for me, and I look forward to serving NAADA in this role and representing the University of Arkansas."

Power has been with the University of Arkansas since April 2001. In his work as director of development for the Bumpers College, he helps plan and works to implement the college's fund-raising priorities and institutional advancement activities and is considered part of an overall university advancement program and the college's administrative council. His primary responsibility is to secure private gift support and to foster the development of alumni private support for the college.

Power's prior work experience was with the American Cancer Society, at the Little Rock and Fayetteville locations, where he oversaw the regional fund-raising program. Prior to that he was a senior assistant director of admission at Lyon College in Batesville. He is a 1994 graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington with a degree in history.
