Darrell Walker is now a graduate of the University of Arkansas nearly 30 years after playing his final game as a Razorback. Walker, who put his degree on hold to play and coach in the NBA, was a second-team All-American guard in 1983 and helped the Razorbacks win two Southwest Conference titles and reach the NCAA “Sweet-Sixteen” twice. He still ranks 18th on Arkansas’ all-time scoring list and is 10th in assists.

Walker's former coach at Arkansas, Eddie Sutton, took part in Walker's graduation ceremonies at 2012 Fall Commencement.

A first-round NBA draft pick, Walker played 10 years with New York, Denver, Washington, Detroit and Chicago. He also coached in the NBA for 13 years. And now, at the age of 51, he has achieved another lifelong goal, earning a degree in human resource development from the College of Education and Health Professions at the University of Arkansas.
